September 2009

Dear City Employee and Retiree:

In 2008, Baltimore City employees, retirees, quasi city agencies and local employers such as the Baltimore City Public School System and the Municipal Employee Credit Union (MECU) collectively helped us achieve our goal of raising over $1.2 million dollars. In these current economic conditions, I want to thank you for your generosity and willingness to give back to our community.

As we embark on the 2009 Campaign, we will strive to reach the same goal of $1.2 million dollars. I'm certain that if we all work together we can do it again. This year's theme is "Be a Star in Someone's Eyes!" By giving to charity you are appreciated by so many people. To them and the community you truly are a star.

Please take the time to review about 200 charitable organizations that offer many outstanding programs in our communities. Some charities have been around for some time, others are brand new to our campaign. After you choose the charity you wish to help, go online to www.cccmd.org and pledge electronically or complete your pledge card and return it to your CCC Coordinator.

If you have contributed to the Combined Charity Campaign in the past, we appreciate your gift and ask that you continue to give. If you have never made a donation, please give what you can – Be a Star in Someone's Eyes!

Sincerely,

Mayor Sheila Dixon
